Hurriya is the Arabic word which translates into freedom, or liberty.

People from Middle Eastern countries are in extreme need of Hurriya. Hurriya from the stigma attached to being an Arab, Muslim, or brown-skinned person. Hurriya from the corrupt and incompetent government of Lebanon, from the occupation and apartheid in Palestine, the on-going civil war and FAMINE in Yemen. Hurriya for the Uyghur Muslims who are being tortured and killed unambiguously for their religion.  These suffering peoples are just a drop in the ocean of those living without Hurriya.    

People who seek and desire Hurriya have a right to celebrate their ethnic and religious origins and diversity so that they can proudly discuss the beauty, history and cultural uniqueness of their countries to counter the imagery and rhetoric used in mainstream media to depict a particular image of these countries.

People from the Middle East should have the Hurriya to safely visit and to their countries of origin and to see these countries having basic human rights and security.  Year by year the world watches parts of the Middle East fall apart in the blink of an eye as Hurriya is gradually taken away.  The peoples of the Middle East deserve Hurriya just as those in more developed countries do, to feel safe and secure without fear and uncertainty.
